“Crucible”

I lost my home and studio in the Thomas Fire along with 16 original paintings. Over the last year, I took this as an opportunity to improve on the original designs making them better and stronger than before, kind of a microcosmic expression of my life’s journey at the moment.
Here is “crucible” a revision/recreation/remix of a previous painting “eye of the heart” (pictured last). I used some of my “Phoenix black” ash paint made from the ruins of my home and studio in the shadows on the heart. Rising from the ashes....
